Pianist Jinha Park at Kumho Art Hall on May 27 performed Homenatge a Mompou

Pianist Jinha Park offered a piano recital at Kumho Art Hall on May 27, 2016, at 8 PM which included Homenatge a Mompou commissioned and premiered by Dutch pianist Marcel Warms in 2006.  This work was written as an homage to Catalonian composer Federico Mompou, which I had the pleasure to meet and play for back in the late 70s. Jinha’s recital also included works by Beethoven, Chopin and Schumann.

Pianist Mijung Im performed ‘Mirage’ in her Korean tour including IBK Chamber Hall, Seoul Arts Center – March 29, 2016, 8 PM

On March 29, 2016, 8 pm, pianist Mijung Im performed Mirage for piano at her solo recital at IBK Chamber Hall of the Seoul Arts Center. Im Mijung’s Korean tour included recitals at Mokpo National University, Concert Hall, on March 22, 5PM; Geochang Concert House Inc. on March 23, 7;30PM; Wonju Space Sammu, on April 2, 7;30PM; and Busan Cinema Center, Haneulyeon Theater on April 7, 7:30 PM. (Her recital also included works by Phillip Glass, W. L. Gillock, and Piazzolla.) In 1998, Mijung Im premiered Mirage at Merkin Hall in New York City after winning the Gold Medal at the San Antonio International Piano Competition in 1997 where Mirage was the commissioned work. Jinha Park at the Embassy of Spain in Seoul Christmas Concert – December 14, 2015 at 7:30 PM

Pianist Jinha Park will perform Mirage for piano by Elisenda Fábregas at the Christmas Concert sponsored by the Embassy of Spain in Seoul.  The concert will take place at Pony Chung Hall, in Seoul, on December 14, 2015, at 7:30 PM.  Her program will also include Ravel’s Alborada del grazioso.

David James Kim, cello – Olympus Hall in Seoul – December 6, 2015, 5 PM

American cellist David James Kim will perform Colores Andaluces for cello & piano with Jinha Park at the piano, at Olympus Hall in Seoul.  David’s solo cello recital will also include works by Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann and Debussy.

Pianist Jinha Park will perform Mirage for piano by Elisenda Fábregas at Kumho Art Hall, in Seoul, on October 9, 2015, at 3 PM. Her program will also include works by Scarlatti,Haydn, J.S., Bach, Schumann and Ravel. She performed this same program – “El Piano Emotional II” – at the Mas i Mas Festival this past August in Barcelona, Spain. The Embassy of Spain in Seoul and Bel String sponsor this recital.


Music on Sunday at TOSH in British Columbia, Canada – September 27, 2015

On September 27,  at 2:30 PM, Suzanne Snizek, flute; Joanna Hood, viola; and Michelle Mares, piano will perform Goyescas for flute, viola and piano by Elisenda Fábregas at Music on Sunday at TOSH in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island British Columbia, Canada.  These three performers are faculty members of the University of Victoria School of Music.

Barcelona Festival of Song – Patricia Caicedo & Lenine Santos – June 25, 2015, 8:30 pm

On June 25, at the inaugural concert of the Barcelona Festival of Song at CaixaForum Barcelona, Patricia Caicedo, soprano and director of BFS, Lenine Santos, tenor, and Nikos Stavlas, piano, will perform the world premiere of Tiempo de amor for soprano, tenor and piano.  Tiempo de amor was commissioned by BFS and Elisenda will be the composer in residence there.

Festival Más i Más – Banda Municipal de Barcelona, Plaça del Rei, Barcelona – July 31, 2015, 20:30

This summer Festival Más i Más will present several works by Elisenda. On July 31, 2015, two movements of Elisenda’s Symphony #1 for Symphonic Band (Canço and Finale) will be performed by the Banda Municipal de Barcelona conducted by maestro Salvador Brotons at the historic Plaça del Rei in Barcelona.

Festival Más i Más (Reial Cercle Artistic) – Jinha Park, piano – August 6, 2015, 18:30, 19:30 and 20:30

On August 6, Festival Más i Más will present a solo piano recital by South Korean pianist Jinha Park at the Reial Cercle Artistic.  The program will include Mirage (1997) for piano along with works by Bach, Haydn and Ravel; and on August 7, she will join American cellist David James Kim performing Colores Andaluces for cello & piano along with works by Beethoven, Schumann and Debussy. Both performers will also present Elisenda’s works at the Music Fest Perugia in Italy, where they will be on the faculty this summer.
